The Fourth of July is such an amazing holiday!  Of course, there's the fireworks to be excited about, and the get togethers with the grill going and pulled pork simmering in home made BBQ sauce.  I love the opportunity to have a great time with friends all afternoon and early evening, and then see the looks on the kids' faces as they watch the fireworks!

Decorating for a get together during the summer is always fun, too!  I love using canning jars with LED lights in them to light up as the evening starts to get dark.  They're easily extinguished when we want more darkness to see the fireworks, but the soft glow they create is a beautiful way to make sure everyone can see during the earlier festivities!  Plus, because I haven't put candles in there, I don't have to worry about hot wax escaping if one of the jars gets knocked over!

Adding scent to the festivities is super easy with a Scentsy warmer.  If I don't want to have an extension cord outside, or I can't set up a table near one of my outside power outlets, I can put a warmer in the bathroom or living room so that my guests can see the beautiful warmer and enjoy the scents.  I just love this Star Spangled Warmer for Fourth of July get togethers!  It looks great either outside or in, and is a great way to add patriotic colors to any room!  It also makes a unique gift for a hostess if the get together isn't at your home, and it's a great housewarming gift for anyone who loves the red, white and blue! If I were using this warmer outside, I would use one of our fragrances that reminds me of summer.  June's Scent of the Month, Lotus Cove, has just a hint of flowers and would be perfect (and, it's on sale for just $4.50 through June 30, 2012)!  Cherry Limeade would compliment any summer get together, and Beach would be great if you're having a Hawaiian themed get together!

Looking for the Perfect Wedding Present?

It's Wedding Season!

I love weddings! The elegance of the decor in bright or pastel colors; the beauty of the bride in her perfect dress, radiant on her perfect day; the groom standing straight and tall, elegant in his own right, slightly breathless as he watches his bride walk down the aisle.  I want to see everything, and not miss a moment!

It's shopping for the wedding gifts I don't always love.  While bridal and gift registries make things so much easier, sometimes, all the good stuff has already been purchased for the soon to be Mr. and Mrs.  And I always wonder, in five or six years, are they going to remember that I bought them a setting of china that they rarely use, or will the embroidered towels on their bridal registry need to be replaced in a few years?
